Why is dressing up for Halloween as a everyday black man or woman offensive and not this?



I also seen other ethnicity costumes at Halloween stores such as Asian, Arabic, Indian etc but why is black face always under criticism and not the others?

i personally think it's extremely offensive to see costumes that essentially equate people's culture down into one stereotypical image , but it's Halloween ???? what can u realistically do ? people aren't that creative nowadays , and obviously some of the lowest hanging fruit when it comes to costume concepts is xenophobia and racism. it's sad but true

Well blackface is rooted in American history as a racist and hateful practice that was used to ridicule and mock black people so that's why.

They are. Stop with this agenda of trying to make African Americans as the only minority who is defended or makes noise when they feel disrespected. There are many examples of white college kids throwing racist parties with themes surrounding various minorities, and getting in trouble after people complaining about it.

I don't find ethincity costumes offensive on Halloween. Halloween and it's costumes aren't suppose to take themselves seriously it's suppose to be a mockery
