Not all third world countries are backward. Singapore, Ireland, Switzerland, Austria, Sweden, Finland, and Argentina are all third world countries and are mostly progressive ones. The term "third world" refers to a country's political non-alignment during the Cold War. It has nothing to do with that country's wealth, development or progressiveness. And it's an obsolete term. There's no longer any such thing as a third world country.

Left-wing extremism is actually FAR deadlier than right-wing terrorism. The history of the last three centuries from the French Revolution forward shows how polities devoted to secularism, rationalism and atheism could turn internally murderous and externally militaristic in a shockingly short time. The 20th century was largely a struggle against deranged materialistic atheists who substituted divine revelation with pseudoscience and then went on the war and genocidal path. The death toll caused by the worst fascist (right-wing) dictatorship of the last century is dwarfed by the atrocities committed by the deadliest totalitarian communist (left-wing) regime which is more than four times as many. Both ends of the spectrum are dangerous but the extreme left-wing (secular/antireligion/anarchism/communism) ideologies lead humanity to self-destruction more than extreme right-wing ideologies (fascism/religious terrorism) do.
