I think social media is incredibly damaging and toxic - it distorts our view of friendships, relationships. People only really post good things on social media, so it gives a distorted view that everyone we know is happy and everything is great, and then you subconsciously think about your own life as worse than everybody elses.
Plus you lose contact with friends as people morph into believing a "like" or a facebook comment is akin to having a real conversation, meeting up or hanging out.
!!!!
ever had a reunion and most of the people in the restaurant were on their cellphone instead of keeping up and talking personally with their long time friends ?! seriously, social media is toxic!
I just use Facebook to share music, and of course, to access Messenger. But my feed is only people I care about. Aside from that I don't log in from it much. Instagram is so much better, and a lot more 'lighter' to use.
i deleted mine a couple of years ago and it was the best decision ever. i did make a new one for uni though because it makes uni life so much easier but i'm sure i'll delete it once I graduate. i don't use it for personal stuff at all and i don't even have a pic on.
fb gives you such a disoriented view on life and once i deleted it i found it much more interesting to talk to people again because you won't have seen what they shared so you have much more to talk about.
