I feel like using "+" when messaging other people makes you seem more put-together, approachable, and kinda comfortable in your own skin. I use it when I am referring to other people on a project, like "John + Joanna can work on this–" or talking about activities like "eat + watch a movie."

Does anyone else do this to? Or are you an ampersand kind of individual?

I tend to use + when referring to tasks or objects, while preferring and/& for people. Places can fall into either category depending on the mood.
