Are Beatles the most influential/acclaimed act of all time?
I was just looking at their metacritic scores.
Please Please Me=92
With the Beatles=89 A Hard Day's Night=97
Beatles for Sales=86 Help=94
Rubber Soul=99
Revolver=98
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band=98
The Beatles (White Album)=98*
Yellow Submarine=53 Abbey Road=98*
Let It Be=66
Were these reviews done retrospectively, or are those scores complied from reviews done during the period those albums were released?
It's hard to take retrospective reviews seriously, as they were done by the time the Beatles were already considered legends, which adds an element of bias, like who would want to trash a beatles album.
I'd love to see actual reviews from when the album was released.
thousands of screaming girls waiting for them at the airport (the stanning madness)
concerts being profitable in large venues like arenas and stadiums (arena rock started in 1965)
going global by crossing the Atlantic to the other half of the West and toured stadiums.
backlash when the American South felt offended by "more popular than Jesus".
When you stan, argue with stans about whether a fave can book the stage or not, whether she is global or local, potential backlash, whether she has devoted fans/stans or not,... you are referring to the things the Beatles started.
