I feel like if Perfect Illusion was an album track we would be praising it and saying that it needs to be a single. Our expectations were just soooo high. Not only were we waiting 3 years and Gaga was working with some of the biggest names in the industry and producers of the biggest hits of the decade, but we also felt like it would have to be better than ARTPOP so it felt like a 5 year album to make up in a way.

Perfect Illusion grew on me a lot. It also sounds good on the radio. I actually voluntary listen to it now and think it's her second best lead single now too.

Perfect Illusion is still a wonderful song and I'm happy with its creation. Mark is wonderful!

PI is a great song but it's not immediate like other songs of the album, it's a grower.
it deserved more recognition.

It's a great song and it really did seem like the perfect song to bridge the gap between old Gaga and new Gaga. The single was polarizing like all of her leads since BTW - only this time Gaga didn't have numbers to back her up.

PI's problem was it sounded like a demo. It's even like quieter than the rest of the album, it'll always weird me out that is just sounds soo unmixed and mastered. oh well...

Meanwhile, he saved my opinion of him with A-Yo, which is quite honestly the 3rd best song of the decade and don't @ me, but it's gonna be HUGE and should've been the lead and should've been the 2nd and she's gonna see she was wrong soon....
