Personally:
-I don't find it to be that good of a song in general, it's very bland to me.
-I'm not a big fan of the Chainsmokers, even less of a fan now that they've got this #1 and they feel like spouting out their opinions of everything.
-I don't like Halsey, and feel, as with any feature that goes #1, that this was kindov an undeserved win. I know that's not exactly true, but that's how I feel, mostly when stan-culture kicks in and obnoxious fans start acting all high-and-mighty.
But honestly, I tend to dislike most songs that've topped the BB charts, especially this year. Sorry and Love Yourself got overplayed SO fast. Started out kinda nice and ended up driving me batty. Work feckin SUCKS, ushered in one of my least-favorite eras from Rih. Panda was trash. Is trash, I should say. That silly JT song was bleh. And now we have Closer.
The only #1s I've liked this year have been Hello, One Dance, and Cheap Thrills. Pillowtalk was bearable.
The rest were overplayed, overrated, and underwhelming or just over-the-top bad.
it's sucks and generic, songs with EDM breakdowns are oversaturating the music industry. i hate listening to the radios now because all the songs they played sounds similar
They loved it when it wasn't this big. Now that the song has become bigger than most of their faves' songs maybe, or because it has been overplayed, or because of that Gaga comment.. People have begun hating it.
The sing itself is flawfree and everyone knows it.
I hated the song the first time I heard it. Roses, Don't Let Me Down and even All We Know are so much better songs than Closer in my opinion and I don't understand why it's the one that smashed. Closer's success is really impressive, but I can't support the record I don't like. Simple.
1. Because its threatening Mariah's "classic" record and some of their faves could never
2. Atrl is like a gaga forum and little momsters hate Chainsmokers because of their "feud"
3. They don't like Halsey
You really think rhyming closer, rover, shoulder, boulder and older is some kind of amazing song writing that only the chainsmokers could pull off?
I think he was pointing out the super cohesive narrative and totally natural flow of the lyrics. LOVE how they mentioned where she got her mattress and the type of car she drives. That deff felt like crucial information & defffffff not at all contrived for the sake of a couple lame rhymes.
Because it sucks.
There have been better edm inspired tracks the last few years that deserved better, but didn't got any any support, yet this mediocre and generic pop track is getting people off their seats, while the male vocalist can't sing live to save his life
