Fair enough.
But most of ATRL has been calling gaga a fad and forgotten for the past 3 years and Katy is at the top of the market with Beyonce/Taylor/Rihanna. So, how can ATRL compare a flop and a fad with someone that is supposedly at the top of the industry?
Logic. Gaga was at a very bad place after ARTPOP. Two years since the C2C era of doing covers and presenting her vocal and performing skilss have opened her up to the audiences once again. She's not as big as she once was BUT she is definitely in a better place than the ARTPOP era. The music is nice and simple, and people have responded to the majority of the material.
And Katy, it's hard to tell what Katy's numbers will be. But Katy and Rihanna have never opened big, their deal has always been keeping singles at the top thus their albums keep selling over time. Can Gaga do the same? Well, Million Reasons should AT LEAST be a top 10 hit with some radio and promo and that should sell the album through Christmas.
