It contains FOUR USB ports, USB-c. USB-c is the future of USB, just like USB-b (what we use now) was to USB-a.

While I agree with most of what you wrote, USB-A was the one we use now on the old macbook pro and most pc notebooks and USB-B was the one used on printers, midi keyboards and other devices.
But yes, USB-C is the future and is already used on a lot of tablets and smartphones.

Most reviews are saying these are improved over the macbook.

The new MacBook Pros utilize a newer revision of the butterfly switch first introduced on the MacBook keyboard. This means we’re talking about a shorter travel distance than the prior generation MacBook Pros – something that may not be popular in all corners – but at the same time we’re told that these aren’t the same identical switches as on the MacBook, and that there have been some changes to improve the feel.

I'm not a fan of the emoji bar replacing Esc and Function keys as I need some of these for some programs I'm using. I know you can customize, but I prefer keys with tactile feedback rather than just pressing something on a display.
There are a lot of photographers that are going to miss the SD card slot that was on the older models.
On the plus side, I'm glad they kept the headphone jack. The funny thing is that with USB-C and a headphone jack, the macbook pro is a perfect match for the Google Pixel (and previous Nexus models), but not the latest iPhones.
