Hello's sales are even more impressive considering that it comes from a 9 million selling album.
By the way speaking of 90's hits I wonder how many weeks would have spent My Heart Will go on at #1 if her label had shipped more copies of the single. It was really massive.
We will see how "right behind" Hello will be in the end.
And you know that 1989 is not on Spotify, right? So should we compare 1989 Youtube vs Views Spotify or what? Since both are only at 1 of them really and I mean both count for RIAA.
1989 is slightly over 1 billion US Youtube views.
Where is Views on US Spotify? Certainly over 1 billion too, but not sure by how much.
25 is on Spotify, and yet Views still has more streams across all services & strictly on Spotify. Is Views bigger than 25?
& your logic contradicts your own previous statements.
Streaming is what matters according to you, yet Views has been the most streamed album each week all 26 weeks it's been out & according to you doesn't deserve it's 13 weeks at #1. Why?
Because albums are actually still selling something. They arent nearly as dead as single sales. At least first week.
Havent looked at the % of the BB200 SPS how much of that is still pure sales on an average week, but Im sure it's a higher contribution than on the Hot 100

And you contradicted yourself again.

Now there's a difference when comparing how an album does to how a single does on the respective charts. Whatever helps your argument I guess.
There is no difference in the storage space of my brain. When I see you talking about Closer getting to many weeks at #1 it immediatly goes to Views.
Of course there is a difference in how you get #1 weeks on Hot 100 and BB200 and what you can consider getting lucky based on that. But keep reaching.
"Billboard 200 and Hot 100 are the same"
"Streaming is what matters at the end of the day"
You literally tried to make a point in favor of Closer over Hello, but didn't realize that point applied in Views favor, the same album you tried to diss in the process.
Nobody said you were dumb. You just perfectly set yourself up multiple times with a flawed logic.
Now the charts aren't the same, and Streaming isn't what solely matters anymore.

I obviously never meant / said that BB200 and H100 are the same or that streaming is all that matters.
You just tried to spin my words
And I would never diss Views. It's a fantastic album and one of my favorites of the year. The fact that it is 13 weeks at #1 is just stupid.
I don't understand this argument. iHype is very right, at least in the comparisons of Closer/One Sweet Day and Closer never being bigger than Hello regardless of metrics.
1989 and Views aren't relevant to the conversation so why are they being discussed
