I'm a catholic, and yes it is a religious day to celebrate and remember our loved ones
but it isn't considered "sacred"
it's supposed to be fun and full of joy. At least in Guadalajara that's the way it's depicted.
We'd even fill up altars with beers and cookies and candies jewelry.
it's certainly one of the things I miss about living in Mexico
