Pakistan is clearly not in the Middle East. Unfortunately uneducated Americans think of Pakistanis, Indians and other South Asians when they hear "Middle East" and it's spreading to other parts of the world.
You're confused and need to study the map harder. Pakistan is not anywhere close to Southeast Asia. Southeast Asian countries are Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, etc. Pakistan is a South Asian country and it's clearly not in the Middle East. To the left of South Asia is Central Asia (the other -stan countries) and they're not in the Middle East either.
Zayn is half white so of course he doesn't look like a typical South Asian. He can pass as Middle Eastern, but it's common knowledge his father is Pakistani.
No one uses "greater Middle East." And Muslims aren't a culture. What's next? Indonesia is part of the Middle East? It's the biggest Muslim country in the world.
All of the Middle East is in Asia. It's West Asia. North Africa isn't actually the "Middle East."

This isn't even about respect. It's not even true. With the Salvadorean vs. Mexican issue, "Mexican" is a generic term used by uneducated types for all Latin Americans. With this issue, uneducated people literally think South Asians are Middle Eastern people.
Then most people are very stupid and need to get an education.
No one's "reaching." You're just dumb. Pakistan is a South Asian country. Anyone with half a brain knows that Pakistan was a country created by the British during the Partition with India. How on earth can a country in the southern part of Asia be part of the Middle East? And have you seen the way most Pakistanis look? The way they dress? Their languages? They're culturally and linguistically related to India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, etc. except for the Muslim colonization.

No, it's not. There are 20 countries in the Middle Eastern region and Pakistan is not one of them. There are 22 Arab countries, and Pakistan is not one of them either.
Why are people fuming in here? Calm your asses down. She, like much of the western world, think Islamic country = Middle East. It's not complicated or indicative of anything that she thought this other than she is unfamiliar with geography. Cool it.
