This could be a new feature that’s being A/B tested among a select few users. That or a hoax to really mess with someone you know to be a bit too keen on your Instagram.
Whether or not this is for your stories or images all together is unsure. If this is genuine it does point towards them adopting a similar approach to Snapchat’s feature that lets you know when someone has taken a screenshot.
I’ve Tweeted @Instagram for a response but for now this is purely an unconfirmed rumour.
I need someone to confirm whether or not the snapchat cheat works for IG too though. Like how you can screenshot a pic while on airplane mode, close/kill the app, then turn off airplane mode, then restart the app again and it won't send a notification?
