I personally think it's too expensive to produce for what they get in return. I think the person who said to add it to Netflix has a good point. Crunchyroll exists, but people don't want to have to pay for 2 streaming services for what's effectively the same thing, and streaming has already done wonders for music, so it could save anime too maybe?

I agree anime nowadays are boring and too conservative/moe like. Where are the Narutos/FMAs and other "serious" anime?

The only reason why it is dying as an industry is because they refuse to put it on streaming devices right?? yeah actually it has gotten to the point that the animation sucks just look at Dragon Ball Super animation and everyone is watching it free on youtube or webpages so how can they raise money to produce more episodes??? they need to do something because is not dying because of the decline of people seeing it, its because they are not getting enough money in return.

I mean it's too repetitive, more traditional anime are being made. The characters all look the same with only different hair colours and are usually drawn in moe style with unnecessary fanservice and childish music. It's become too niche.

Anime artists/animators in Japan have never been paid well though It's pretty common knowledge at this point that they work unbelievably long hours, under high stress and barely ever get to go home to see their families. It's technically been "dying" for decades now. So I mean, I guess one could argue that it's dying faster, but anime is still popular as ever. If they really want to move the industry forward, they need to start releasing on platforms that actually matter, like Netflix and Hulu. Nobody cares about Sushiroll.

Anime industry salaries have always been like that (blame Osamu Tezuka who said that anime should be done as cheaper as possible). I swear I see an article like this every year. As for 2016, Kimi no Na wa is one of the highest-grossing films in the history of Japan and the Blu-ray sales aren't much lower than in the previous years.
