In the sense of, we are instantly looked down upon by some of society and seen as inhuman and as someone who doesn't have feelings and emotions. Like we are still a HUMAN BEING we laugh, cry, get upset. I don't think they honestly realise the will power and bravery it takes to be a gay person. They sometimes (in my case straight boys) never give you a chance or even try to get to know you or see if your a good/nice person because they're so ignorant and insecure in themselves. For me being gay was not a choice, I cant change it it's just the way I am, just like a straight person can't change their sexual orientation.

I also often think to myself what would that homophobic straight person do if their own child turn out gay?

Yes, and I live in Canada. It's not direct attacks but mainly how they treat you compared to others, promotions, etc. White men don't promote gay men at work... same as women though so I think women and gay man are on the same level of mistreatment

It's literally the only thing that's been dragging me down in life sometimes. Sometimes I even think if homosexuality is wrong and I can be straight just like the majority people
