Despite being one of the largest minority groups in Europe, the Romani people are still highly discriminated against all over the continent. Why do people forget about them when it comes to racism issues in society? Are the Romani people misunderstood?
No, a huge part of them are just savages who cannot adapt to the way of life lead by people around them for centuries. I'm a very tolerant person, but a lot of the stuff these people, at least in my part of Europe, do (stealing, begging, littering, committing many more crimes as an ethnic group compared to others) cannot be considered a distinct culture.
Sorry if that's offensive, but it's true. Just look up Lunik IX in Košice, Slovakia to see how an attempt by the state to settle these people down and help them worked out.
I won't say anything about them because I will end up being a racist. So, I really feel sorry for their discrimination since I have some good Romani friends and they don't deserve it.

But how can they adapt if the people surrounding them won't fully allow them to? I know many Romani people who experienced racism on multiple occasions despite being normal working class citizens. It's come to a point where being racist to Romani people is seen as normal.
Slovakia (and most of Eastern Europe tbh) is a racist shithole and I'm saying this as a Slovak citizen.
Calling out bad behaviour and nasty way of living/upbringing is not racism. Literally everything these days is called racism. Generalisations are not my cup of tea, but the vast majority of them are unbelievably rude and I'm not here for their child exploitation/abuse. They basically teach their kids how to steal or in the best case scenario how to beg for money. Do not mistake Romas for beggars, in a lot of cases, many families have much money and influence from exploiting children and underground drug dealing.
Categorizing people is not something to be proud of but they are a group of people with strange way of thinking. But it has nothing to do with race it has to do with the way of thinking and customs that this specific group of people tend to perpetuate and pass along.

The people who discriminated them despite having integrated into the community should be shamed like racists discriminating white, black, asian, indian or people of any other ethnicity. I was careful with my wording in that post, because not all Gypsies are bad, but what I said can be applied to the vast majority of Central, Eastern European and Balkan Romani people.
The latter is your opinion, I've never been to Slovakia, so I can't judge. However, I'm from Central Europe and I don't think my country is a racist shithole.

No, I don't think ATRL moderation will understand that so I better stay out of this thread.

I would not stand a Romani being given less freedoms or rights than me, as long as he/she was not violating any of mine. Respect is for everyone. Not saying they should be treated poorly cause of their race. It would be outrageous! They should be treated exactly like every other human being. I'm just not here for their way of living and manners.

I don't care about political correctness or being labeled anything by anyone. I'm not going to censor my thoughts because someone might get offended. I believe I'm being reasonable and polite with what I'm saying, and if someone thinks otherwise, they're a whiny, oversensitive bitch.
Well I don't know. How am I supposed to "understand" people literally appropriating pieces of land from my town and just literally building their own neighborhood there (like they built houses and stuff) , stealing electricity (you can see their freaking cables hanging and connected to the city service ) probably stealing water for all I know, not paying any taxes while STILL benefitting taxpayers avantages such as free school for their children, not to mention that those children as some of the most violent person I've ever seen in my childhood, I was TERRIFIED.
Not saying all Romani people are like this, but the one of my town are.
There were some who lived near me and they kept on stealing and killing people's dogs (I don't know why) so I'm gonna go with a no but they should still be treated humanely
I'm living in Hungary for a few months and this girl in class today told me parents of children here scare them by saying "do this or the gypsies will come and kidnap you" and apparently they segregate romanis and put them in schools of children with special needs and stuff

Generalizations are gross. Lots of Romani people have accomplished so much in life yet you're dismissing them solely on their ethnic origins:
Anyway, the problem is not one-sided. Let us not pretend some Europeans treat them as inferiors, have them study in deficient, segregated schools (and when these schools get desegregated the children are afraid to go to regular schools for fear of being discriminated against), etc.
