Oh stop. The only reason why OSD is remembered is because it stood so long at #1. Its not even a good song and its not even a good Mariah song. If it did stay only 13 weeks no one would even remember it. The record is what holds it up there.

I checked my Hot 100 stats which I made two years ago (I need to update it!).

OSD was charted in 1996 (I talk about Billboard's year). 1996 was strange year with lowest number of different songs on whole chart, in Top10, To5, Top3 and with lowest number of #1s.

I've never heard OSD and I can already imagine how it sounds I just know about it because its ALWAYS discussed here every single year when someone gets close to break the record lol.

10 weeks? Y'all make it sound like it's been 14 weeks or something.

This happens every time.

I remember everyone celebrating when UF! Was knocked off by SYA... only for everyone to start panicking when that song got to ten weeks. OSD is safe. Always will be.

No way will Closer last another 7 weeks It's already losing its grip on iTunes and peaking on radio.

I hope they balance out the equation more, I hate when there's an insignificant amount of charting songs/movement in the top 10. It's so boring. Especially when there are only 6-8 #1s in a year each with exactly 8 or so weeks A perfectionist's dream It's more fun when there's gripping competition and it's too close of a call to know who will go #1, or if a new song coming out will dethrone it. There's no excitement anymore. It's back to the boring and uninspired stagnancy of the mid 90s

All this talk about the "most weeks at #1 record" made me realize the song that holds that record here in The Netherlands is an abomination haha
