Can I just though that the Democrats have the BEST people? Not just surrogates but actual campaign staff. The DNC and Clinton campaign right now have the best of the best. (Except when it comes to speechwriters: Michelle and Obama still employ the best.)

They are still using Republican tactics of the 80s and 90s. Bill brought a fresh face to politics and Obama continued his own modern path. They've finally began to distance themselves after they all embarrassed themselves over how sure they were Romney would win but not enough. They're going to continually be the party of the old and left behind while the Democrats continue to find new ways to embrace newness and diversity. It's quite sad. I'm happy I'm on the right and winning side though.

Trump had a good chance of winning if he just didn't **** up the debates and didn't rape all those women. It's pretty scary it took all those three things for Queen to get a +7 lead nationally.

A lot of Trump supporters will never vouch for someone as politician and "establishment" as them. The whole appeal with Trump is that he has established genuine faith and belief in people, many who might have never voted or haven't voted for a long time. If Trump continues his narrative about the Republican Party being against him (and I imagine he's going to blame it all on them when he loses...), there is no way Trump supporters will go for a "Romney/Ryan/Rubio type person". I mean, I think everyone forgets Ted Cruz came second. He's himself is not very "establishment", and is just as insane (if not more insane, to be honest) than Trump.

It honestly wouldn't surprise me to see another business person or outsider with a similar narrative as Trump get the nomination again. People (all over the spectrum and not just in the US) are sick to death with "establishment" politics.

This is why its going to be so messy after Trump. You're going to have so many different factions trying to establish what the GOP is actually meant to be and where it should go. It's the problem of having a two party system, when divisions open up... they can really fk the party over.

Tbh as much as I want to see the GOP crash and burn I think we're catastrophizing a bit. They'll be scarred come 2020, but it'll be a very close race for the president.

The GOP is outdated and antiquated. They've really struggled to acclimate in a new and more modern culture tbh. I think they'll rebound but they're going to have to really try to become more inclusive and more modern. The same tactics that worked 15 years ago just don't work today.
