This trend will continue, not just in the UK but in many other European countries too. I don't think it has anything to do with Brexit. I'm scared for the future of the western world

Brexit give them the sense that 50+% of the country support their non-PC and anti-establishment views. They voted Brexit to point their middle fingers to Brussels, regardless of the consequences.

If it weren't for the fact, for example, that the UK government funds Scotland outrageously more per head of population compared to England, they'd be absolutely screwed

You're completely right. Left or right, government needs to be accountable to the people it represents. The only shred of direct democracy in the European Union is its Parliament. That is inexcusable when treaty after treaty has transferred more power from member countries to Brussels. Sovereignty was the one reason I wanted to leave, and honestly even as a natural Labour supporter I was really disappointed with the arguments put forward by the left to remain. The message I got was basically, keep power in the hands of Brussels so the Tories can't do more harm. That's fundamentally undemocratic. Like it or not, people elected the current government and no supranational body should be exploited to stop them from fulfilling their election commitments.

C'mon guys, let's not act like homophobic hate crimes are exclusive to the U.K. The entire Western world is currently a mess, let's not deny it.

I don't believe Brexit has directly caused the increase in these crimes, but I guess the ignorant bigot's that voted to leave the EU are getting too big for their shoes after their 'success'.

Logistically speaking, yes this makes sense. You need to remember however, the final result was 51% - 48% in favour of leaving. Let's be real, the 2% more who voted to leave were people completely uneducated on the matter who wanted to leave the EU because of "immigrants", not to mention the people who thought it was a laugh/bit of drama. Many people voted leave because of a lack of understanding of the repercussions of leaving, and thought it simply would make the UK "independant". It's not like it was a big win, we voted to leave by an absolute marginal percentage. In some respects you could argue conservatism is rising in the UK, or you could argue it's a lack of understanding and we can thank the propaganda we see everyday on our media (mainly newspapers).
