On first listen. "Joanne" has an amazing chorus that manages to be heart-breaking and soaring at the same time and the lyrics are great. "Dancin' In Circles" would be great if it had a chorus!!!!, "Sinner's Prayer" is really cool minus the wtf? verse about her baby sister, "Hey Girl" is amazing, but I can't quite get into that wavy synth line.
I liked "John Wayne"'s energy, but it felt pointless. "Diamond Heart" on the other hand is a pretty good kick-starter and the "Young, wild, American, C'mon baby, do you have a girlfriend?" line is amazing.
"Come To Mama" is extremely weird, but the melody has you singing along half-way through the song.
"Angel Down" does not live up to its potential at all, sounds quite out of place and it's not a good way to close the album. I hope someone makes a banging trance/dance remix of it.
"Just Another Day" it's not Joanne, that's Stefani! It really took me way back. Lovely vibe.
