I'm definitely getting it. iPhone is pretty damn expensive and I'm still a student, so until I start working somewhere I'm not buying an overexpensive phone!

Is it worth it? Absolutely, it's an amazing phone.

The only things which are scaring me are

1) The extremely fragile nature of the phone (glass back, fingerprint reader prone to scratches)

2) The ugly ass software, I know android is liberating but its UGLY

I had the S7 edge and it was trash. Sold it and went back to an iPhone 7 plus

I really enjoyed it at first, but it got extremely laggy, kept crashing and battery would die insanely fast. Got it swapped and the replacement started doing the same thing, so I got it swapped a third time but just sold it

No. Some of those have exploded too. Get the Pixel XL.

1) It's not that fragile. I've dropped mine dozens of times, and the only damage is on the metal edges - the glass front and back is perfectly fine.

2) By software, you mean the interface? It's entirely customisable. It isn't like iOS - you don't have to run stock Android...

3) It won't last 2+ years. Most phones really aren't designed to. Battery degradation kicks in after about a year... just insure it and send the phone away to get the battery replaced when it starts messing up and/or if you do happen to smash the glass.
