I think she worded it in a strange manner. Gaga was just trying to say that the comparisons of her record's narrative to Madge's life (Joanne is basically about a girl rebelling because of her over protective father) are unfounded because of just how autobiographical this new record is. I think when she went into "I play instruments and write my own music" that was just her way of saying "I wouldn't spend a year of my life crafting an album about Madonna's life, I put in a lot of work to write about my own life, and if we had similar lives that's okay, because it is still honestly my life". I can see why people are thinking she was insinuating that Madge doesn't write or play music.

It was nice of her to acknowledge Madonna's massive career but inappropriate to imply that she's more musically involved than her. Madonna has been in charge since the inception and all of the producers she's worked with have confirmed that she takes the wheel as a producer and as a songwriter. She also doesn't play any more instruments than M does.

What's gotten into her? Madonna has just been nominated for the songwritter's hall of fame, she should be ashamed of herself and be more careful with her words and respectful about people that have majorly influenced her own work like Madonna.

I have no sympathy left for her after this.
