My dad was allowed to vote in 1996. My mom couldn't vote until 2000. My dad supported Bill (don't know if he voted) They both voted for Gore, Kerry, and Obama. Now they're voting for Hillary.

I don't think he would appeal to the Kasich/Paul Republicans once more of his record and past statements get more public views. More like Cruz imo. He'd probably do better than Trump since he's actually competent but against an incumbent Clinton? We'll see.

You just know Republicans are going to peddle the theory that anybody else they put up could have beaten Hillary in a landslide. Some already are.

a) It's not like Trump beat a weak field of candidates. Rubio and Kasich were perceived as some of the best the party has to offer. Yet neither could get close to Trump.

b) The electorate wouldn't have suddenly warmed up to Cruz, the man who to this day somehow manages to poll even worse than Trump in favourability ratings. A true race to the bottom.

c) Nominating someone who wouldn't go out of their way to insult people wouldn't solve the Republicans' inherent demographic problem. Trump may be insulting and turning away all sorts of minority groups but ignoring them as the party often does is just as bad.

Trump is changing the dynamics of Hillary's victory. Instead of a close race we now have a landslide. But to say that she was never going to be in contention is foolish.

I wouldn't say it's foolish. Even her team acknowledges that she can only beat Trump with the scandals surrounding her. In 2020, it'll be a different story though. She'll probably have nothing but dusty overused receipts against her if she has a good term.

I'm not saying she would've definitely won if the GOP miraculously managed to nominate Kasich or even Rubio. It would've been a close race for sure. But I've read more than once today that the current numbers would be reversed. And that's just not realistic with the GOP's current problems.

I agree about 2020. She'll be judged on her presidency at that point, everybody except Breitbart will have forgotten about emails or whatever else. I dunno if she'll be re-elected, four consecutive terms for a party would be huge.

You know I'm all for Hillary over Trump any day, but the current war we have going on and her 'no fly zone' policy, it troubles me that she might not be the smartest when it comes to war tactics. But is Trump either?

We've had Obama for 8 years now and there has been no WW3, but with a woman in charge, could that potentially change and alter our fate?

I think Hillary could lead us in the right direction, but I really hope to God she knows what her actions are with this war and know the consequences. I'm really not into politics, so I don't know anything about this topic, but this debate has been very interesting to me and sparked curiosity.

Ultimately, the last thing anyone want is a war with Russia, let alone WWIII. Imo Hillary dealt with Putin before so she'll manage. Her gender has nothing to do with it.

As an Obama fangirl, I can tell you he tries to solve problems through
1) Diplomacy
2) If that fails - through international agreements or via NATO/UN
3) Or, by offering military support to others fighting the battle (See Mosul)

He's received some criticism for how he handled the whole "Red Line" thing in Syria but this man is very anti-war. And truely, no one could have foreseen that Syria would turn into the **** show that it has become. (I blame Russia.)

Hillary on the other hand, is more pro war I think. She will definitely use military force faster than Obama has during his presidency. But I hope that she won't make the same mistake twice (Iraq war).
