I think a lot of the critics are holding on to The Fame Monster and Born This Way too tightly as a comparison. Critics rarely ever appreciate an artist who changes. They are like stans. They want musicians to continue on the same musical route.
Reviewers know that they'll get tons of clicks if they drag Gaga because of how vested the monsters are. Plain and simple. They need clicks, so they can drive up ad revenue. Positive reviews don't get clicks.
Negative reviews = more clicks = more ad money = website can stay in business.
Plain and simple. The reason they don't drag Beyonce though is because the hive is much more volatile and will go out of their way to personally attack and stalk the reviewers on their private social media.
This is why journalists are trash. She released a new album and they're praising her old one that was trashed at the time. Makes no sense, but I'm looking forward to them enjoying Joanne next album cycle and actually giving it a listen.
Speaking about 1st week sales, here's my question guys: If I pre-order JOANNE thru Amazon U.S. but for it to be shipped overseas, would it still be counted as US physical CD sale or not? By the time the album's out my local CD stores would have it for sale but hoping I can contribute a little for JOANNE's opening week's sale.

Yes it would count as a US sale as long as it's ordered from the US store
Alright so now that the album is actually released I'm listening to it. I liked then hated then loved then hate Perfect Illusion (and really dislike it now) but I'm gonna listen to Joanne with an open mind without any negative thought.
Diamond Heart is really good, I think it can grow on me. It was one of my most anticipated tracks and it's good. Great start.
