Those stats are often cited, but more than likely false and were found by the family research council or someone related if I remember correctly. Also, how do you survey and invisible minority? If you go to a club in the middle of NYC or a bathhouse than obviously the answers will skew high, but there is no way to account for the large closeted population that does not frequent these areas.

Found the source, and it's from the not at all biased against gays exodusglobalalliance.com which sources a book from 1978, which was criticized for being outdated and not having a broad enough sample like i said before.

A UChicago study found that in the past 12 months the average straight man reported 1.8 partners while gays reported 3.1 . Hardly that much of a difference

I disagree with that. Women tend to be by far more selective of who they sleep with because, from an evolutionary perspective, they are the ones who will take care of the child. I remember reading that a while ago

Not to say there are no promiscuous women but, yeah...
