You guys literally said that her past works were not real music and that this album wouldn't have commercial success but would have critics. Implying that it would do better than her "not real" music, and so far...
Can't wait to see how will this "artistic growth" reflect on sales. Poor Little Ronsters.
Joanne will be one of those albums that will be overlooked when it got released, but praised due in time and eventually get named as a discography highlight.
The way I see it, the fame and born this way are both at like 71. Joanne is better than the fame and on par with born this way (I think it's slightly better but that's debatable) so it deserves at least that. Gaga doesn't deserve to be stuck in the 60s range just because she is seen as a fad by a lot of people. I know that's not how it works but I still hope for 70+
They're not even really coming at her for the 60's. They're coming at her because they're pretending that the overall expectation was for her to have a critically acclaimed album, which it's still very possible to do that. They better pray it doesn't come back and bite them in the ass. You would think all the whining they do about the monsters on this board that they themselves would be any different That's all I really have to say about the metacritic thread.
P.S Don't EVER come for me about liking "real music". I hate the term, I've never said it, and to me real music is ALL music.
I was 23, she was 35
I was spiraling out, and she was so alive
A Texas girl real strong, taught me this strong song
So when I start to bawl, she says, "let your teardrops fall"
