Well she wasn't even big in the most popular music market in Africa (South Africa). Look at Madonna's sales in comparison to her peers:

As you can see, all of Madonna's peers have multiple #1 albums or multiple top 10 albums, multiple platinum and even multiple multi-platinum albums. Madonna only has one top 10 album (ouch!), despite almost 30 releases (studio, compilation, etc), and no multi-platinum album. I don't understand why people don't believe us when we say Madonna is not popular here.

I'm sure Madonna cries herself to sleep at night knowing she didn't sell those 20 copies of her album in Africa compared to her peers. Poor her indeed!

7 top 10s in her 30+ year career. With the exception of Celine, all of Madonna's peers notched 7 top 10s within the first 5 years of their careers. And this is South Africa. Imagine how much worse it is for her in other major countries like Nigeria, Ethiopia, Egpyt, and the DRC.

Probably worst. This is very telling indeed. I mean, I always knew Madonna wasn't popular here, but these stats reveal that it's even worse than I imagined.
