But what else was released in 2014 a few months later in September? Cheek to Cheek. I mean Cheek to Cheek didn't flop, it did really well for a jazz album but she was no My Everything. Then, came the "beginning" of A3. It could have been the final coffin in Lady Gaga's coffin but Gaga decided to let the GP learn about her again by joining AHS in October. What else came out October? Focus. Focus was basically the worst thing that could have happened to Ariana after her huge commercial success coming from My Everything and at the same time Gaga was in the public eye again. Gaga continued to stay in the public eye by performing at places like the Oscars in February while Ariana was hidden away in her mansion with her dogs, slowly having her solo power sapped away. But Ariana didn't give up and ended up releasing a radio smash, Dangerous Woman. A pop/rock lead for her new album that did very well compared to Focus, and Gaga, well she released her pop/rock lead Perfect Illusion a few months later.... Which... Do I need to say more? But it's not just guitar-led. It has an electric guitar solo and an arena rock chorus (especially the final chorus). While it's possible for pop songs to be have guitars and not be pop-rock (like Kiss It Better), Dangerous Woman is not one of those cases. I would classify it as 1/3 rock, 1/3 pop, 1/3 R&B.
