I agree radio is important and that it's how a lot of people consume music. But what's the point of a song being big on radio if it's not leading to more streams and sales or if people probably just switch the station when the song comes on? Does that really make the song a hit? If radio was truly playing what the GP wanted to hear by basing airplay on callout scores, requests, and success in sales/streaming, then that's different. But we all know airplay is heavily dependent on payola. It's bad enough that big artists are able to get more exposure for their music through payola. Why make the playing field even more uneven by making radio such a huge part of the Hot 100 equation?

I fell like @ThugginGrande wouldn't be so mad at radio power if Ariana would be doing good there

Callout scores and consumer success both matter when it comes to how successful a song is on radio. Callout surveys cost lots of money to commission and carry out, so it wouldn't make sense for radio stations to ignore them. There are songs that do badly on callouts but still end up having success on radio, and that is because they are very successful on sales and/or streaming (Hotline Bling & I Took A Pill In Ibiza are good examples of this). We know that programmers make these decisions because we never see songs flop on both callouts and consumer metrics and then do so well on radio that they become legitimate hits. I agree that this would be unfair, but it doesn't really happen.

"Hello" still top 3
Only 5 weeks left
Ger do you think Hello will finish in the top 3 for the Billboard year end charts?

Oh definetely, OD is going down, it should get like 600 points in these last 5 weeks, it's getting there, but I believe "Hello" is safe. ALTHOUGH it could end out of Top 3 on BB. I'm not quite sure if they're going to convert the points before the latest formula. There are 10 weeks of old formula. My methodology is just to add overall points for each week with the corresponding formula. If they use one formula (the latest one), then the old hits are gonna decrease. For example, in case they do it, the Top 5 right now should be looking like:
1. Love Yourself 9,777
2. Sorry 9,424
3. One Dance 8,859
4. Work 8,741
5. Stressed Out 8,459
6. Hello 8,212

I'm doing my search, but if someone knows, I'd appreciate. How does BB Year-End work when there were at least 2 different formulas for overall points on Hot 100? Do they use just both formulas and add overall points with each formula in the corresponding weeks, or they convert all those points to one single formula? Don't remember what has happened for example in 2013

My guess is that they just use both formulas that were used during that period? For example, remember in 2013 when they added YouTube and Harlem Shake had a massive run at #1 - it still ended up at #4 on the YEC I would imagine that they just kept the points from the activity (using old formula) starting December 1 through whenever they implemented the change (which I believe was early March) and used the new formula that included the YouTube data.
That's just my logical guess

Is there a chance that Starboy will reach #1 next week since it obviously won't happen this week?

Omg, Closer is unstoppable There's one person that is able to stop the hunk (and his friend):
Taylor Alison Swift, where are you?
