It's a harsh lesson for the monsters because Gaga is actually technically more talented and creative than Nicki.
The thing about it is...
In pop music there are so many female pop stars that you can never get too cocky especially when you are taking from the past and passing it off as your own.
Both ladies did this and got backlash but in the end no gaga means there are plenty of other pop girls to select from. If Gaga was more of an individual unique artist not built on gimmicking past things and hiding behind costumes...she'd be around.
Sure, Nicki did the same thing gaga did and went further because she used gimmicks to get attention, then took Wayne's formula ripped off Kim/Foxy/Rem/Eve tried to do it with lauryn but the hip hop community is different from mainstream.
The hip hop community doesn't mind Nicki being the standard for female hip hop...(this era of the hip hop community) because there are no high standards and need to do more which is why in general a Kim kardashian/Blac chyna/Nicki Minaj are standards of beauty in the hip hop community.
In mainstream, the standards are higher and you have to bring more to the table if you want to last.
You don't have to do much more to be a hit for a minute but you need more to last.
The standard is not to wear crazy costumes, rip off the past and then get an ego as if you invented something.
The standard is to represent what's popular at the time and then bring your individuality/artistry into it.
If you can't do that then you are only meant to be major for a brief period in time.
I really hoped this rock pop era for gaga would have better results.
Oh well...
and it was kinda recent too
