Well that's not true for XFactot at least. This year alone there is a gay that isn't as feminine or overly- camp as Ballario (sp?). His sexuality isn't even brought up. Last year there was a gay man that no one even knew was gay because he never mentioned it on the show (I think he got to the judges houses).
I think you mean the problem is loudest and most known representative by the media is the overly-camp gays which is true for obvious reasons (entertainment and mockery value). They have the loudest voice compared to the less attention-seeking gays on the show that the media don't ever pick up on.
imo, the XFactor is very considerate of the LGBT community. From Lucy Spraggan to Nick Grimshaw (a gay judge). Maybe not inclusive for trans people tho.
At least it's not like BB where they make sure the only representative of the LGBT community are only extremely bitchy, narcissistical over the top camp gays creating a negative stereotype that all gay men are bitchy and rude.
