A few more minutes later: If you want to share this story with the world to think about their children, maybe write it as a blog or a Facebook post. Don't film one of the most devastatingly personal moments of your child's life and then put it on the internet for the world to see forever. This boy is going to grow up and have the most painful day of his life out there for him to play back and relive, while the world watches.

Recording his reaction and uploading it is pretty extreme BUT I'm not gonna drag someone who just suffered a loss so I'll try to see it from their perspective. I'll remain indifferent however the video is truly truly heartbreaking. Poor little boy

Saw this earlier and was legit disgusted, I don't care about his 'reasoning' honestly I cannot believe he'd expose and humiliate his son in such an awful awful way.

Honestly words fail me. His father is absolute scum in my opinion and this is unforgivable.

I never say that, but there are ways to do this. One is obviously don't ****ing have a cigarette in your hand when telling your son his mother died "from drugs"

Second of all, there was no need to tell his son how she died. Like he's 8. That stuff doesn't matter to him at all.

ok now it makes sense he's trying to raise awareness for addicts who can't stop using drugs. I still would never do this nor allow my family members to post anything like this but I can why they did it.

The heroine epidemic has hit middle America SO hard, in some counties drug related deaths outnumber those from murder and/or natural causes. It's as bad as when crack hit the projects all those years ago but of course the Gov't will handle this more responsibly.

I get the intention of wanting to raise awareness, but in this age of social media, videos like this feel attention-seeking more than anything. Although he could get charity from this, which I guess for them is better than nothing lol, but he better be ready for lots of hate too. He could have blurred out his kid's face, I guess. Either way the kid's gonna be traumatized, whether his father can brainwash him into understanding why the video exists in the first place or not. I don't think this kid is going to even want to watch the video when he gets older though, maybe a couple times. He'll get over that, but he's probably gonna grow up to hate his dad with or without this video tbh lol.
