Destiny's Child and TLC - both POC girl groups - were able to achieve huge commercial success. Even the Pussycat Dolls were able to get hit after hit years after girl groups went out of style. Plus, you're acting like any of the 5H girls would be able to do any better solo.

Literally how are they bigger than Ariana in any way? Their album that came out four months ago is #740 on iTunes. Even My Everything is at #377.

And poor local Ariana with her 9th best selling album (globally) released in 2016.

That was ages ago, in this decade America and most of the world is completely unreceptive to girl groups which is why 5H are the only relevant one. I never said any of the 5H girls would do better solo, it's the combination of their voices and performing together which is what makes them special.

All of that is true. But it's not as hard for a female soloist to have big success which is why there's so many huge female singers and Ariana isn't even among the top (no shade, I'm a big Ariana fan). It's much harder for girl groups to find success, 5H are the biggest Western girl group which is why their achievements are more impressive than Ariana's.

There are a lot more solo female singers in the market or trying to make it big than girl groups though. And even the Korean girl groups have Fifth Harmony beat in terms of success. If you say they're the biggest Western girl group, well yeah, I guess by default they are, but who's their competition? In fact, I would even argue Little Mix are the biggest Western girl group, seeing as they probably bring in more revenue, with their big album sales and touring gross, even if they are pretty local.

Besides, Ariana is definitely one of the biggest female singers today. Obviously she's not on Adele or Taylor's level, but she's easily top ten.

At this rate, i'd say Ariana. Meghan will have a real trouble with her next era since Better pretty much killed all the momentum that she's built.

5H can't even compare with the others tbh. They have views on YT and a cute Top 5 hit but that's all.

I'd say Little Mix is more succesful tho they are more local. But at least they are huge in their main market. 5H ain't huge anywhere. The only impressive achievement that they have made is their Youtube views. Little Mix's album sales in UK are really impressive.
