So you're blaming internal racism in the black community on Caucasians and Europeans?
Talk about a racist comment

I'm not saying it's okay to act like that AT ALL, and it's definitely a problem of segregation inside a community that already suffers so much for the absence of media and political representation, but it's just something I learned recently and I wanted to share.

Is this a joke? Or are you really that ignorant?
European beauty standards are to blame for internalized racism in all ethnic communities.
There's absolutely nothing "racist" about their statement. Read a damn book, and educate yourself.

No, they aren't. They really aren't. And if you think that is the case you are the ignorant one.
This is just classic leftist bullsh*t. Everything is blamed on something else (bonus points if whites or western society can be involved) and there is complete disregard for personal responsibility and accountability.

I can't speak for other communities, but in the black community, colorism is 110% caused from a mixture of slavery and Euro beauty standards. During slavery there were outdoor and indoor slaves. Indoor slaves were generally lighter skinned and told they were better than the darker slaves. This mindset has carried throughout the generations and still manifests today. European beauty standards reinforce this perception.
This isn't a "leftist" or "SJW", made up thing. It's fact. Slavery ****ed us up, and we still feel it's affects till this day. You may not like it, but that doesn't change the truth.

Alicia Keys, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Barack Obama, Kevin Gates, and so on are all light-skinned because they're mixed race. And lots of African Americans who think they're fully black take DNA tests and find out they're not.
Rihanna most likely has Native American DNA in her considering she's from the Caribbean, for example (my mother is Caribbean also and she has a bit of Native American DNA in her and says it's very common for Caribbean people). So Rihanna is probably not 100% of African descent. Akon is an example of a celebrity who really is probably 100% black.
My point is, this isn't "light-skin black" vs. "dark-skin black", it's "mixed race" vs. "black".

LMAO there are tons of light skinned people in Africa.
And this post is so dumb. "mixed race" vs "black", WHERE?
And colorism is overstated. Most black people don't go around grading lightskins and darkskins.

The light skin version dark skin thing is just the result of racism black people have faced since the beginning of time. Although I must admit it isn't as big of a problem as it used to be.

This doesn't make sense. There are people who are 100% of something. You have to remember many places were and some still are racially homogeneous. So yes, there are black Africans who are 100% black, there are whites who are 100% white.

Not fully true. In many countries in Asia, especially those that were never colonized whiter skin was always something desirable. This was because people with lighter skin were assumed to be wealthier and didn't work outside which would naturally darken your skin. This was long before they even had a concept of Europeans, and is long ingrained in their society. Europe had a similar thing, which was why Southern Europeans weren't even considered white at one point.

Whatever, colorism, racism, they both cause discrimination bc of one's skin color and they're both disgusting.
