This thread really exposes the people that care more about charts and their faves than music as a whole.
I love ATRL stan wars and have enjoyed sales threads and messy chart weeks etc but streaming sacrificing that but allowing me to discover hundreds of new artists will always be a plus. I love discussing music more than stan wars and I get to listen to whole discographies of all kinds of artists, pop or not.
And yes labels still payola their way into the "hot new tracks" playlists on Spotify but that's just like radio deals and promo in the modern age, the pop girls just didn't adapt well. The chart is trash but there's still plenty of other songs out there.
