I don't think that's what he's saying. If you're married to someone, and you're conflicted about a decision you must make, it's natural to turn to him/her for guidance.

This!!! Actors are always so overly celebrated. Like if they couldn't act - then they shouldn't have been in the film. Actors and actresses like Julianne Moore, Anthony Hopkins, Meryl Streep etc are some of few who deserve HUGE accolades for their challenging performances.

You hate the fact that they struggle to portray people whose defining characteristic is one they do not share? How is that fair?

Just because he said playing someone who's gay was hard for him doesn't mean he hates gays or is latently homophobic.

The man dove into a culture of which he has no part -- in presence and understanding. Give him at least a little benefit of the doubt.

In all honesty, it has come to the point that I don't care anymore when staights say they have "a mancrush" (or whatever it's called) or anything similar like praising the looks etc
