not "xenophobic" when nearly all the #1 songs in america before closer were by non-americans
i looked at this year's number one singles in france, germany, spain, mexico, japan, brazil.. all i see is songs in their respective native languages. english is the world's de facto language so it doesn't count.
there is a limitless amount of good music available to a consumer, so it's not strange they'd rather spend their limited time listening to songs in their language..
In order for a K-pop song to smash in the US it has to be meme'd to the max with a viral video. Quality songs always get ignored. Why can't they take it seriously? Is it due to racism? Easternphobia?
Nah they'll just stick to garbage like Cheerleader by OMI or Lollipop by Lil Wayne

Can you provide receipts where these "ANTI-KPoppers" praised these songs Until then, can you stop using songs that YOU don't like as examples and assuming everyone else likes them because they don't like K-Pop Cheerleader was 2 years ago and Lollipop was almost 10. At least use songs that were released this year or ones that people actually talk about on ATRL of October 2016.
K-pop is doing fine in Asia, you don't really need NA to be global and hold world tours. J-Pop shows you can be successful in one country and it might be just enough.
As for if it's racist...It's not, lol.
THIS is quality? It sounds like every other Major Lazer/Diplo/Skrillex song smashing the west. We don't need to import that when we already have it.
Please tell me where did I say that this song is different from a western song. I can give you a full list of great kpop songs that don't sound westernized if that's what you want, lol.

Then why have basically no non-English songs been hits in the US? If it were due to xenophobia then why do Australian/UK/Canadian artists get hits in the US?
