Well, she needs to. This redirecting people to her website makes it sound as if she can't defend herself and she has a team who does that job for her. She needs to rebut his accusations immediately whilst nearly 100 million people are watching. Judging by the support Donald Trump has, I'd say there are a good percentage of the American public who believe anything that comes out of his mouth. Her redirecting them to her website isn't going to help at all. It's not the right approach at all.
Steps she should take for Benghazi for example:
1. Moderator question
2. Trump false accusation
3. Hillary: "If I may take a little time to address the accusation here. As you suspected, these accusations are totally false and don't represent the facts of the matter. The facts are I testified in front of a congressional committee for 11 hours and even the Republicans had to admit that they found no wrongdoing... Now, I would like to answer the original question which Donald totally failed to answer and conveniently changed the subject because he knows literally nothing about any policy, never mind his own.
