Do we have any info on when the next ep is coming? Really missing this show.
Slightly off-topic, are there any Adventure Time fans here? Can't believe they've announced that it's ending Hopefully SU still has many years left in it.
I think it was confirmed that they'd be showing off unseen footage at NYCC, although it could just be one of the confirmed shorts.

ajdkskss i hope not, cause there would be SOOOOOOO much **** either left unrevealed, or given a rushed conclusion. The cluster, though stabilized, is most likely not completely done for. We have the 3 diamonds as antagonists, which could be separated into different arcs. Not to mention Steven finding the cure for corruption, Lion's origins, Jasper's possible redemption, the gems going to space/Homeworld, all the unseen fusions, etc. And all that has to include regular townie episodes in there too.
If Sucrose finds a way to fit all that into the 45~ episodes left, props to her, but I'm 99% sure the show will get renewed.

This.
My goodness, if it is ending after the 5th season I'll be even more shocked than I was by adventure time. This show to me feels as though it's still in its early stages, (though tbh I still felt that about AT only a year or so ago) as you've said there is so, so much left that they need to explain and reveal, if it really only has one season left I'll be hugely shocked.
I legit don't think I can take SU being cancelled as well. I'd love to know if it's cartoon network who is 'cancelling' these shows, or if it's the shows creators that are informing them that they are working towards their natural end. Cause AT + SU are two of the biggest animated shows on currently, like the fanbases are huge, I can't see CN letting those go willingly unless they're planning some really strange overhaul where they want entirely new programming where they wanna take everything into an entirely new direction. But that would be a really risky move.
I just wish we had more info on when we're getting new eps
Do we know when roughly we usually hear of renewal announcements?

Didn't Sugar say the number of episodes are already lined out? Like she always knew what was "the story she wanted to tell". It all could be wrapped up very well if 80% of the episodes weren't useless townie filler trash but actual gem stuff

I remember her saying something similar (that she has an overall outline for the plot), but that the way things are happening has changed while making the show, and that she'd be happy to have the show go on for a very long time. So if the show does happen to end with season 5, she's probably found a way to fit everything in, but she'd also be willing and able to make the show last for a few more seasons if it's something her and CN feel is right.
Does a show necessarily have to have it's renewal announced for production to start on a season? For all we know, they could be working on the last episodes of season 5 or the start of season 6 rn.

I think most of the shows that are set to end are because of the creators wanting it to end, apart from Uncle Grandpa. Adventure Time has 2 more seasons and a movie in development, so it's getting a nice sendoff. Regular Show, I'm not as sure of, but the story seems to be reaching it's climax, so it looks like it's ending on it's own terms. Gumball was confirmed to be ending because the creator wanted it to. I feel bad for the Uncle Grandpa creators tho, they found out the show was cancelled when the news went public.
Usually, it's 2 to 4 weeks before new episodes that they get announced. All of the Stevenbombs (apart from the first) were announced a month in advance, Summer of Steven and In Too Deep were announced 3 weeks before they started, etc. So if they're showing a new episode clip at NYCC, an announcement should come sometime in the next week or 2.
The React one was def a nod to the fans and the ending of the song one with the da da da da da's has to be a nod to the theme song in some way down the line imo
