Demi isn't really liked by anyone and I think I heard Cool for the Summer once at a bar but that was it. I know some people that like her, but I'd say more or less like Selena she's kinda just there. She really doesn't have much of a presence besides the messy headlines nowadays.
Neither Demi or Selena have a single hit that's iconic thus far imo

I liked Demi when she released "Skyscraper." She hasn't really done it for me since then. Her music has just been subpar and, dare I say, worse than Selena's. Which is odd, because she's clearly the more talented of the two. Her music just... doesn't reflect that at all. Everything from self-titled to the present has been trash.
The only reason I knew otherwise is because I actually liked looking up charts, statistics, etc. and listening to Pop radio.
I was just saying if you looked at what's relevant in radio, media, and culture today you'd hear a name like Selena Gomez before U2. Like if you looked at who's relevant in radio, media, and culture today you'd hear Rihanna before Celine Dion. But yes, you are correct, there's many people who live in a cave and haven't heard anything about Rihanna in 2016 while they still play Celine Dion CDs everyday — but being realistic, that is obviously not most people.
