News: Russia warns to shoot at US planes if it strikes Syrian Army

The statement underlined high tensions between Moscow and Washington after the collapse of a US-Russia-brokered Syria truce and the Syrian army's offensive on Aleppo backed by Russian warplanes.

Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said any US strikes on areas controlled by Syrian President Bashar Assad's government could jeopardise the lives of Russian servicemen.

Russia said it was unhappy with the US-led coalition's air raid on Syrian army positions near Deir el-Zour that killed 60 Syrian soldiers on September 17, rejecting the explanation from the American side that the attack was a mistake.

Konashenkov said 'we have taken all the necessary measures to prevent any such 'mistakes' with regard to Russian servicemen and military facilities in Syria.'

He said the range of Russia's S-300 and S-400 air defense missile systems deployed to Syria would be a 'surprise' to any country operating its aircraft over the country.

When will the world learn? World Wars start because of minor attacks like this, the Allies are required to join in and it escalates. It just takes one minor slip up.

I advise the US not to shoot at Syria, and if we do and Russia retaliates, I'm going to advise everyone to not let it justify a counter attack. A counter attack would be signing us away to another world war.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if the next world war was already planned. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but it is just a fact that wars have been created off a false premise and extended due to the fact that they have created industry jobs which is beneficial to our economy. That's why our military is so huge, because it has been such a profitable industry.

I do. There are better ways of going about things. Russia knows they don't have immense power over us and that we are close to the same—they're not as irrational and delusional as they appear. They are not going to taunt us after 1 attack unless we attack them back. If we counterattack then it will be a requirement for them to attack back and there will most definitely be another war. Russian pride is too high to just take an attack, even if they're in the wrong.

It always was, imo. The only reason we're helping the rebels (who, by the way, are al-Qaeda renamed) is because the Assad government is allies with Russia and Iran. It's more beneficial to the United States to have a destabilized Syria than a fully functioning secular country, like it was before the war there.

And not for nothing, I'm kind of with Russia on this one. The United States knew exactly what they were doing, it's just convenient for them to call it a mistake so when Russia takes defensive measures they can be painted as war-mongering.
