most kids at my school that were in the band were on scholarship. they probably threatened to make them pay for school

it also has to deal with sponsors. many Alumni threaten not to donate anymore if the band didn't get discipline and the local radio station threaten not to promote the game.

Yes, I'm sure that they've learned an important life lesson that corporate sponsors and (academic) institutions will supress their first amendment rights and silence them for protesting inequality. Educate them!

I would encourage ALL of the band members to kneel in protest of this attempted intimidation, but I'm afraid that they'd be jeopardizing their scholarships, band membership, and possibly even their place at the university.

So it's basically the band members emotions on something don't matter cause they are just lowly students and like always authority wins. Nothing is shocking, but it's always disappointing.

And this is where patriotism is driven into extreme levels, they didn't parody the anthem or burn a flag they simply kneeled and some lunatics thought that is an appropriate response. Then you'll have people say the band members are the worst ones in this situation for "disrespectin!11".

It's always "this method of protest is not tolerated" for multiple methods, peaceful or not. It's clear what that means.

I seriously don't get why so many Americans have a problem with such a silent, non-disruptive form of protest. Yall racists are always bitching at us about how it's not the right time to protest and how we're doing it in the wrong way. Then when we finally DO find a way to do it that's not disrupting your day in any way, shape or form, you pull this ****. America REALLY hates minorities.
