Personally for me, listening to music and songs that relate to my hurt at tha moment always works. Adele, Lykke Li, Sia...and self vacationing. Realizing that you enjoy your own company will make everything so much better
This will take time, no doubt. But the best way to get over someone is to completely cut them off if both of you are certain that a relationship won't reform. You're just torturing yourself by keeping in contact with him and his distant texts are gonna make you miss him even more.
Keep yourself distracted by hanging out with other people and dating again.
It's not easy, trust me. But this is the only way.

Yes. The fact he kept messaging me every week for stupid jokes and random **** or asking how to cook stuff I cooked for him and **** kept the hope alive like he didn't wanna cut me off completely and I was always replying like a dumbass.

I cried yesterday when we got back from the bar and my roommate went to sleep and I sent him the long ass message. I haven't cried had just been sad but yesterday was like the "that's it" moment.
