Just use your brain. Know who you are talking too. If they look sketchy, meet them in the public. I never invite someone over to my house right away unless I'm 110% confident they aren't creepy. Otherwise I meet up at gas stations or something.

That one is a long story, but I could have easily ended up like the victims, tbh. I used to be quite a party boy years ago. In retrospect, I've had a number of really troubling life experiences that could have turned out much worse.
