Shania Twain will become the first female recipient of the Artist of a Lifetime award when the seventh annual CMT Artists of the Year celebration premieres Oct. 20 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Previous recipients of the honor are legendary artists Kenny Rogers and Merle Haggard, who were awarded in 2015 and 2014, respectively.
Women like Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton have put out over forty studio albums each. Reba McEntire is well on her way to her thirtieth.
Shania has but four proper albums to her name, and she'll still be the first female recipient of this prestigious award. What's more is that I don't mind.
