I should also add, that this is just blind patriotism imo. How we are expected to stand for a flag and yet many of us can't even recite the bill of rights, let alone more than the first 2 outside of memory. On top of it people don't want to recognize that people in this country like PoC and the LGBT hasn't been fully granted these freedoms that our flag supposedly represent. People used Veterans as a counter to Kaepernick's kneeling but (not only did that backfire with #VeteransforKaepernick, however) many of these people probably don't even recognize that we need to do more for our veterans that they claimed fought for our rights and freedom. It's just a blind expression to me and I'm glad people are paying attention.

I think it's a stupid form of activism. If you care so much set up a non-profit organization to further your cause and actually help people, instead of stunts on national television that help absolutely no one.
