What are some artists you've noticed who never seem to follow any popular music trends?

Bjork, Grimes, and FKA Twigs all delivered something fresh in their recent releases that was fairly untapped. I know they're all alternative but the shoe fits. Taylor to an extent because the style of music (Country -> Pop) she has been making was never at its peak when she released it.

Never be fooled! Nearly every successful pop star has trend-hopped.
