People desperately grasping at straws "but it had no impact other than being one of the greatest selling albums of all time!!" and it's ridiculous. Hard sales that are literally 2x higher mean more than the subjective concept of "impact" - of which it seems that Janet didn't have enough to make up for half the sales she is missing
It really isn't close. Music Box sold 29 million, janet. sold 14-15 million. Music box was bigger. Hero and Without You were bigger than any songs on janet. WW and they have higher views on YouTube as well

How the hell did this thread get to Page 7 when Music Box doubled janet.'s sales and had much bigger worldwide hits? Hero and Without alone were more global than Janet's entire existence.
