This was my initial thought, how she was allowed to leave the country? She is the main witness in a major theft crime, you'd have thought that the police would want her to stay for a couple of days.

The Kardashians have done a lot of things for publicity to try to save the show, but I feel like this one's real. I mean, Kanye even stopped his concert when he heard about it. If it was staged, wouldn't it be more convenient to time it after the concert ended? Unless it really is part of an elaborate plot to make it more believable, but that's a reach.

Tbf, if you're going to stage something, you should aim for the most dramatic effect. It's more dramatic having Kanye walk out of his concert, than the incident happening after the concert and Kanye just running there.
