Also, I agree, anti-bitch. If you're a singer, you need to sing. The dancing and stage antics should always come second to singing. That's the biggest reason why I don't like Britney; I hate that she refuses to sing live, but is okay with dancing and doing all of that stuff on stage. It's cheating your fans. They're paying to see you live. If you can't deliver, why are you a performer? That's why I really am glad that Adele doesn't lip sync and refuses to do it. It would break my heart to see her do it, because it goes against what she stands for. She's a live performer and I think that's one of the reasons why she's so respected.

To be fair, Britney was never a strong vocalist ever since her label made her sound like a child and that ruined her voice when she was younger. Plus all the smoking and drinking. I used to love her because she was capable of putting a show despite lip syncing.
I really hope Adele takes a two years break after her tour ends to rest her voice. She sounds way better now than she did during 21 and she's proven she's a vocalist this time around.

No, I agree. Britney has never been a strong vocalist, but I would much rather her sing than lip sync, in my opinion. I just don't think it's very respectable for anyone to lip sync when you know people are paying damn good money to see you perform live.
Also, I agree; her voice sounds great. It sounded great during the 21 era, too, especially given the recurring vocal issues. But certain people in here shouldn't try and discredit her this time around; her voice still sounds great.
And Ichi, I'm not 100% sure... I thought the comment was made in reference to a thread I saw yesterday about Beyoncé using pre-recorded vocals. I don't know if that's where it came from or not, but either way... I disagree with pre-recorded vocals and lip syncing. Adele is above that and I don't think she should do it, nor do I think she ever will.

I agree, Britney should sing live at least the ballads or her slow songs. Even though there's a video of her singing live while she was in Peru, I Wanna Go iirc, and that made me believe she indeed has sung live but her team or father doesn't let the world hear.
Adele has improved as a vocalist, a lot. I mean, she reached the last Set Fire to the Rain notes during her NYC special last year and I think she's done it during her tour. While she was on Carpool, she gave us what we all wanted by singing Someone Like You the way she sounds on the original track. She's also admitted she feels way more comfortable now.
I think people are overreacting with the whole Bey's pre-recorded vocals, though.

Yeah, I think you're absolutely right. One of the problems is that people make Britney out to be this horrible vocalist, when in reality, her biggest issue is the fact that she just doesn't sing. She doesn't have a phenomenal voice, but it's decent when she bothers to actually sing. If people don't give her the chance, though, she won't.
Absolutely. Adele never tried to hit those notes before (she was capable, but I think she was afraid to). She's definitely a lot more confident, and I think coping with her nerves more this time around helped a lot. She did "Someone Like You" like the studio version during some dates of the tour, too, although she stopped. (I don't know why, but I know that when she goes lower instead of singing it higher up in the chorus, that's because that's how it was in the original version, and Dan Wilson made her sing it higher, I think.) I think that her increase in confidence is the biggest thing. I think we all had some doubts after she did the Oscars in 2013 (not that it was bad, but it wasn't her strongest performance either), but she came back stronger than ever. Her voice sounds great right now!
I don't think Beyoncé should use pre-recorded vocals, but what I will say is that she doesn't have to prove she can sing to anyone. We all know she has a great voice, and she's Beyoncé, so... She can do whatever the hell she wants and get away with it. She works her ass off on stage, and I think she sings live more than people give her credit for. She doesn't do it all the time, but in all honesty, I don't think she needs to do it at all because her voice is definitely good enough!

I wasn't comparing Adele to anyone. I just said that open microphone is the king. Let's not have different set of rules for different people.

Adele should never lipsync, wtf
I personally get disappointed when I pay money to see anybody and they do it, tbh. Even TS. Like, sure it's their choice whether to focus on vocals or something else, but for me I value what I hear over what I see. I go to live shows with the hope of it being an expansion of the auditory experience of the record, not a reduction of it to afford a dance break

I want to say though that I respect anybody that's okay with backing tracks or whatever because they value dancing, it's just not my thing.

Britney had a good voice. You should check her videos during her MMC days. She was on the same level as Christina. It was her label that wanted her to sound more commercial and made her sing like she was still a child during her debut. There are some early performances where she still sounds like she can sing really good, not with her nose.
For me, Adele sounds better nowadays. I am really glad she stopped smoking and doesn't drink as much as she used to and focus way more on her voice.
I think Beyoncé uses pre-recording vocals is pretty justified. I mean, she dances her ass off while on stage and it is really hard to sing while dancing the way she does. She still can sing and sings live 90% of the time.

My problem is, if you call yourself a singer, then you should sing live no matter what. As already said, I go to concerts to hear some of my fave songs live and honestly, I'd rather listen to someone who isn't pitch perfect all the time but sings live (e.g. Ryan Tedder, although he was much better live than I expected him to be) than someone who just opens their mouth while the CD track is playing... Like, if I wanna hear the CD version, I can stay at home, save money and just listen to it on Spotify. And saying that Adele should lip-sync is ****ing ridiculous, singing live is what makes her who she is as a performer/artist and I'd probably had to hand back my stan card and go back to just being a fan if she started to do that regularly.

I agree. I can just listen to the album at home if you're gonna lip synch. I mean if they use it for once or twice because they want to focus on choreography for a bit then thats okay, but for the most of the concert what the audience should be hearing is LIVE singing. People are paying at least 50 plus usually so we better get our money's worth !
Anyways this is random but this gif is so Its literally serving RIP teas

^ That gif wtf
Anyways I agree about the lip syncing, but personally I usually let it slide if the performer is doing excruciating and physically exhausting dance routing, and as long as they still sing live most of the time. Not Britney Spears level, though, where she exclusively lip syncs to tracks recorded literally 15 years ago sorry, I have nothing against her personally, but I could never stan for a performer like that.

I feel like my head is exploding reading this Kim Kardashian blather. It's almost impossible to avoid it since she's getting so much press. She truly embodies everything that is wrong with the Hollywood/Instagram approach to life: vain, attention-seeking and has no talent whatsoever. I am terrified that so many young girls look up to her as a role model.
EDIT: I was told today to respect her because she has children. I'm sure that her children are sweet, innocent and very much love their mother, but I won't feel pity for her before the police investigation is completed. If she really was a victim of an armed robbery, I wish her speedy recovery and health, but if she did fix up the scene and set up an insurance fraud with Kanye, then they both deserve jail-time.

Britney embodies everything that's mediocre tbh, but i'm happy the world moved on and atleast partially moves on to more talent. her performances look like sloppy cooies of a routine from 1999. i think nostalgia is the reason she has so many stans left
on another note, i'm glad sering basically all ATRL'ers see Adele as the superior songwriter compared to Bruno. he's good melodies but very basic and cliche songs tbh. interestingvto see how 24k sounds tho.
also i'm obviously stanning Solange's new album. i hope Adele mentions it soon like w Lemonade, cuz this one deserves the shoutout more tbh!
btw, only 23 more posts now!!

^ i too liked Solange's album (sure there were lots of interludes) but still it was great. Cranes In The Sky is my favourite track so far.
